For a number of years, whenever we have begun to design a piece of furniture, a traumatic confrontation has arisen between our heritage and personal predilections.

On the one hand, is our family and individual history (resting comfortably on efficient and lucrative routines of creation, production, distribution and sale of furniture with the perfect finish so characteristic of leading manufacturers) and, in a more general sense, the industrial and cultural context of the Basque Country; on the other hand, our desire to incorporate contemporary trends (new materials and techniques, the value of artisanal design, makers initiatives, social and environmental sustainability, co-creation) as well as the expression of our own personalities and inclinations (empathy, boldness, aspects of playfulness and humour).

In order to reconcile such a bewildering range of elements, early mornings and afternoons without sleep or rest are dedicated to drawing, reading, consultation, steps forward and steps back to the drawing board, fascinating visits to workshops and laboratories, an agreeable understanding with users and customers, rigorous controls of finish and quality, all with a view to reaching the Holy Grail of a product that is as unique as it is exemplary.
